Last month, shoe emporium New York City Kicks moved to the SoHo Broadway district from Midtown. We asked owner Rodney Cohen a few questions about their company to learn more:
1. What does your organization do? What industry are you in?
New York City Kicks first opened our doors in 1991 in Midtown Manhattan. We started as a children’s shoe store that sold brand-name shoes; we learned how to correctly size kids’ shoes and later decided to take our experience and expand our business by selling Women’s and Men’s shoes.
2. What brought your company to SoHo?
After being in Midtown Manhattan for almost 30 years, we decided to relocate the business to the prime shopping area that is the SoHo Broadway corridor, which residents, shoppers and tourists frequent daily.
3. What sets your company apart from the rest?
New York City Kicks sells unique and fine shoe brands that can’t be found everywhere. For example, the brand L’Artiste (luxury footwear with beautiful designs) is one of our biggest sellers in the store and on our website. Other brands that are sold here include Jeffrey Campbell, Steve Madden, and many many more. Come on down to the store and see all that we have to offer!
4. Is there a promotion that you would like to offer readers or members of the SoHo Broadway community?
We would like to give SoHo Broadway Initiative Newsletter subscribers 10% off any purchase when you come into the store and mention SoHo Broadway as a celebration for us opening in the neighborhood!
